Submission Guidelines

Please review both our Code of Ethics and Resources for Writers prior to submitting your piece to in-Training

The publication welcomes submissions that reflect on, challenge, or advance our understanding of the medical student experience, healthcare policy, technology, and medical education. Submissions should provide original insight into any aspect of medical education or healthcare. Overall, submissions should employ creative writing and/or academic rigor to open the reader’s eye, start conversations in the field, or shape the medical school experience.

Submissions unrelated to our mission, or submissions lacking original reflection or discussion, will not be considered for publication. Submissions that are not accepted for publication will be returned with author feedback, and submissions that are accepted will automatically undergo the peer-review process to ensure the highest quality of publication and author growth.

in-Training promotes free expression aligned with physician ideals of ensuring widespread health and freedom from harm. Submissions that do not adhere to our Code of Ethics will not be considered for publication.

in-Training does not allow the use of AI-generated images and will not accept submissions that are generated by or “co-authored” by AI platforms at this time.
