Submission Checklist

Thank you for your interest in contributing to in-Training. Before submitting an article, please ensure that your submission fulfills the following criteria. If you are a new writer, please read our guidelines for new writers.

1. Your username is your full first and last name, all in lowercase letters and without a space (example: ajaymajor). It cannot be changed after making your account so it’s important to format it this way when you initially register!
2. You have reviewed the Mission Statement and Ethics of in-Training and confirm that your piece adheres to these standards.
3. You consider your article to be relevant and interesting to medical students worldwide.
4. Your submission thoroughly and thoughtfully explores a topic. Submissions should be of sufficient length to address the presented idea. Although we do not have a word limit, most of our articles are greater than 600 words and no greater than 1500 words. Your article should be free of spelling and grammar errors.
5. If you are submitting artwork or other creative media, please email your work to our managing editors.
6. If you are submitting a column, please submit 2-3 articles to the managing editors (1 must be a complete article, the other 1-2 may be rough drafts), and the editorial team will evaluate whether the drafted column idea is appropriate for the publication. You should also submit an outline of the theme of your column and how the column will progress beyond the scope of the initial documents you send to us.

For Visual Arts Submissions:

We are currently accepting visual arts pieces of many different genres, including original artwork, photography, or other multimedia forms. Artists must be medical students and submissions should relate to the medical student experience in some form, although we encourage artists to be creative in their representation of the experience.
