Lauren is a 4th year medical student at the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine in Edinburg, Texas class of 2021. She completed her pre-medical studies at the University of Texas-San Antonio where she was a Terry Scholar and Middle Blocker for their NCAA DI Volleyball team. Her team mentality, enjoyment of being active, and kinesthetic nature have led her to pursue a career in Emergency Medicine. Outside of medicine, Lauren is a major foodie and enjoys DIY home projects, birdwatching, and ping-pong.
My friends and I wished we knew how to flourish from the beginning, so we decided to create Wards & Boards, a peer-to-peer mentorship mobile app. The app compiled advice from fourth-year medical students who completed each clerkship designed for third-year students beginning their first rotation.
