Cassie is a student at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. She graduated in 2012 from Bryn Mawr College with a BA in English and a minor in psychology and completed the Bryn Mawr College Post-Baccalaureate Program for career changers in 2015. She has been on the editorial team at the Annals of Thoracic Surgery and regularly contributes to US News and Student Doctor Network.
Throughout my training, I’ve observed the shortcomings and strengths of the health care system from the perspective of the next generation of physicians. Lack of emphasis on preventative care put Americans at risk even before COVID-19 hit our shores.
In 2012, Target’s marketing team was attacked: first by an enraged father, then by a storm of reporters and finally by social media. His daughter received a mail advertisement focused on baby-related products.

Jordan Baechle is a second-year medical student at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee who is interested in surgical oncology. In 2013, Jordan graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry. Jordan’s previous research experience spans the stages of drug development at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he is currently analyzing tumor resection clinical outcomes. His primary interests focus on product development, health disparities in oncology, and metabolic interactions in tumor micro-environments.
