The Calm, Chaotic Reading Room

Lights off.
Screens on.
The image is brightened,
As intellect is heightened.
A radiologist sits down with coffee,
Ready to collaborate with colleagues.

Eventually the room is flooded with radiographs,
From physicians consulting on their behalf.
With an MRI from neurology,
To a CT in the ED.
While an X-ray from the floor,
Continues to add on more.

As the reads pour in,
The diagnosis is established.
A treatment plan is developed,                                                                                                To help relieve the patient.                                                                                                      For care to be enhanced,
The art of medicine is a dance.
Going carefully through each image,                                                                                      We cannot simply assume,
In the calm, chaotic reading room.
